Rahma Hassan is a researcher working with the Resilience from Below project and in the Re-examining Early Warning Systems and Humanitarian Responses in Pastoral Areas of the Sudano-Sahel and the Greater Horn of Africa project. Rahma leads the research team on the Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia cross border case study. Previously Rahma has worked as a researcher in the East and Horn of Africa on land reforms, pastoralist resilience, governance, and inclusion of marginalized and minorities.
Rahma’s Ph.D. at the University of Nairobi and University of Copenhagen focused on land reforms and pastoralists access to land. Rahma also holds a B.A. in Sociology and M.A. in Development Studies from the University of Nairobi.
